Handprint Diya Diwali Craft

Celebrate the festival of light by making this easy Diwali craft with kids at home. This is a simple Diwali project for school as well. Kids will enjoy tracing their hands and pretending to hold a diya for Deepavali.

This handprint craft will make a cute Diwali keepsake that you will cherish for forever.



HOW TO MAKE HANDPRINT DIYA CRAFT?


SUPPLIES
Colored Cardstock Papers
Scissor
Glue
Black Marker

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Trace child's hand on a green paper and cut out carefully.

Step 2: Outline the handprint using a black marker.

Step 3: To make diya, cut out a triangle shape (side ~3 inches) from orange paper and 3 small triangle shape from blue paper to decorate the diya. You can also use of color of your choice to make diya.

Step 4: Glue the 3 small blue triangle on the big triangle as shown in the picture. Let your child get creative in decorating diya with pompoms, buttons, or jewel stickers.

Step 5: Cut out the shape of flame from orange paper and a smaller size flame from dark red color paper. Glue the red flame cut out on orange.

Step 6: Glue the flame to one side of the paper diya (where the small triangles are glued).

Step 7: Slighly fold the other end of the diya and glue it on the handprint such that it stands nicely.

Step 8: Repeat the above steps to make the second diya with handprint
